Grady Fest History
In March 2009, the Tarpon Coast Grady Club hosted the Gulf Coast Grady Fest I. The event was an all day Informational Seminar mixed with group fun and camaraderie amongst fellow Grady Owners. The Tarpon Coast Grady Club out of Sarasota handled all the preparation and planning.
Grady-White personnel were present as well as multiple Grady Clubs from Florida. Various speakers and vendors were there with information and instruction on the many marine gadgets and fishing techniques. A great thanks should go out to those involved!
The 2010 Grady Fest II was a bit less formal and have much more of an outdoor festival atmosphere. Our official count of registrants was 300 on the dot. We had 25 Grady-White’s come and dock at the marina and numerous vendors for the event. Throughout the Saturday we had outdoor seminars and vendor booths. An excellent catered lunch by Pincher’s Crab Shack and Live Auctions in the evening. Also, food and drink available throughout the evening and Live Music! Ask any in attendance and I think they’ll say, It was one heck of a Grady Fest!
The 2012 All-American GradyFest III is scheduled for March 23-24, 2012 and will follow a lot of the successes of GradyFest II. For more detailed information, visit our Information Page.
Fish Tale Grady Club History
Here is a little history about the boat club that is hosting GradyFest III. The Fish Tale Grady Club was started in January 2007 and has quickly grown to over fifty member boats! Although we have a common name, the Fish Tale Grady Club is completely separate from Fish Tale Sales & Service, our sponsoring dealer. The club is open to all Grady-White Boat Owners in the Southwest Florida, and is NOT exclusive to Fish Tale customers. The club’s members own a wide variety of boats, from 20′ to the 36′ models and there is a modest annual membership fee.
In a typical boating season, there are ”on the water” activites every month beginning in November and running through June of the following year. In addition to these rendezvous, we have a monthly meeting at the Bass Pro Shop off I-75 at Alico Road. These meetings often have guest speakers and are held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. We typically suspend meetings during the summer months.
